Three Practical Ways to Clean Your Android Phones

How often do you clean your Android phones? One week, one month, or one year? I don't just mean the Android inner data clean, but the smartphones' appearance. As the longer time you use the cell phone, the more junk files stored in the phone and bacteria covered the device. So, this article is going to talk about three different methods to completely clean your Android phones inside and out, including the external phone appearance clean, internal cache clean, and deep cleaning.

1. Cleaning Android Phones' External Appearance

Do you have any idea how many germs are crawling all over our phones? It's frequently found that cell phones have been one of the most repulsive things we touch everyday. In many experiments, smartphones have tested to contain more bacteria than a toilet seat. Sounds disgusting, isn't it? You don't want to put your hands on a toilet seat in every touch on your phone. Hence, it's time to make it a habit of cleaning your android phone regularly.

Before starting, these tools you will need:

  • A microfiber cloth - Every time you buy a new phone or the screen protectors,  the sellers offer one of it for free. Check your box to find it before throwing. If not, you can go to the eyeglass store or pharmacy like CVS to buy one. It's cheap.
  • Distilled water - Make sure to use the distilled water, because the tap water will leave behind a residue if it drys.
  • Cotton swabs and toothpicks - Choose to use the wood stick cotton swabs or Q-tips branded cotton swabs because the shafts are not vulnerable to break.
  • Rubbing alcohol - This is for disinfecting the cell phones

Cleaning your phone:

  • Turn off your phone by holding the power button
  • Take out any phone case or cover if you use one, and remove the battery if necessary
  • Pour moderate amounts of the distilled water on the microfiber cloth, and gently wipe the whole phone
  • Use a water dampened cotton swabs to scrub the cracks in between the glass covering the display and the rest of the chassis, especially the receiver on the top and the seam of the camera lens. Also, use toothpicks to pick the gunk if the cotton swabs cannot wipe them.
  • Pour some rubbing alcohol on the microfiber cloth and clean the phone again. This is going to disinfect the germs and make sure it's clean enough.
  • Run through the cracks once again with a dry cotton swab to clean out any residual dust.
You can use the same way to clean the mobile phone case or cover. For your healthy, it will be a good habit to clean your Android phones regularly.

2. Cleaning Android Phones' Cache

As is known to most phone users, the longer time we use the phone, the slower the system run. When we open an app, it often takes longer time than before to perform it. Really frustrating, huh? Generally speaking, the cache stores the materials of apps or websites, so you don't have to wait a long time for the loading. Some apps like Chrome have large cached data which is likely occupied your available storage on your Android phone. Therefore, clearing phone cached data regularly can boost up its operation and release its memory.

Cleaning the cached data

  • Turn on the phone, tap "Settings" and find the "Storage" or "Apps" in the heading of "DEVICE" (might be in different heading for different android devices)
  • In "Storage", tap "Cached data" to clear all apps' cache; in "Apps", tap the apps you want to clear cache, then click "Clear cache". If you don't want to have the apps, click "Uninstall" to delete all the data in them.

3. Deep Cleaning Android Phone With Clean Master

If you don't satisfied with the cache cleaning, you might turn to find a cache cleaner or phone cleaner for deep cleaning the internal data storage. Have you ever heard that the deleted data can be easily recovered by some data recovery software? That's true. If you want to sell or donate your old Android phones, the first thing you ought to do is to make sure the deleted personal files cannot be retrieved. So, how to do? Here is the recommended tool named Jihosoft Mobile Privacy Eraser. It can deeply scan your phone to find any data, even the deleted one. Besides, you have several files to choose, like messages, contacts, call logs, photos, video, apps and so on, which is a clean master for Android.

Deep cleaning your Android phones

  • Install and run Mobile Privacy Eraser on your computer
  • Connect your android phone with the computer via an USB cable (make sure enable the USB debugging on the phone)
  • Choose the erasing type to scan: Erase All Data; Erase Deleted Data; Erase Existing Data
  • After scanning finished, you can preview the data before deleting, then mark the item you wish to clean
  • Click "Erase now" to select the erasing algorithms, the higher the level, the less chance to find them back
  • Type "Erase" in the blank of the pop-up dialog and click “Confirm” to complete its process

Then we finish! The data you deleted is permanently gone and no one can use any recovery tool to retrieve them. Your phone is 100% clean now.
